A “simple uncontested divorce” is one in which the parties have already divided their property and debts and they have no unusual complications such as children, real property, or retirement accounts to be divided. (Yeah, I know, children may not be “unusual” – but lawyers and parents agree, when children are involved, everything is more complicated.)
